The annual christmas fair on Vörösmarty Square is on! From the end of November until December 31st, the square turns into a festive market place. Cottage-style wooden stalls, smell of traditional honey cookies (don't forget to try the Chimney Cake aka Kürtős Kalács), mulled wine and local food are waiting for you! There are two outdoor stages where usually music takes place, so you don't get bored while picking the best handicraft souvenirs to bring home a little Budapest (and maybe christmas gift at the same time :-) ) for your friends or family. Worth to check out, the market really gets the best out of Budapest's most attractive spots during the couple of weeks preceding the end-of-the-year holidays.
